This course will introduce students to Plastic analysis. It is a method used in structural engineering to determine the ultimate load-carrying capacity of a structure. It is based on the concept of plasticity, which describes the behavior of materials that undergo permanent deformation when subjected to stress beyond their elastic limit. Unlike traditional elastic analysis, which assumes that materials return to their original shape after the removal of loads, plastic analysis recognizes that materials can sustain significant deformations without failing.
