The course introduces the 18th century early Victorian novel, historical,economic,cultural and sociology-political context in which it emerged.Its major writers,their literary works,themes,character models and literary influences and styles are discussed.A representative sample of this literary trend is discussed and analysis of its form and content is attempted to explain,identify and exemplify the literary characteristics of this period novels.
